Shock and Amazement

Thu Jun 4, 2009, 2:13 AM
Well, I've been rather quiet on the internet lately ("quiet" being a bit of an understatement, not to mention "lately", but nevermind). I've been working steadily, though, and tonight I finally got around to putting some of the new stuff up here.

A lot of the past year - particularly the past six months - I've spent drawing Elephantmen, and my three issues (18-20) are now in print (with the third coming out in a week or so). On top of that, there will be a collected version released in time for SDCC, with a ton of extra material, including a short comic about the character, Miki, and the 8-page "Fight" comic, which you can find here in my archives, so keep an eye out for that if you missed the first lot.

And there's more to come in the near future. I promise not to be a stranger, cross my heart and hope to die. Why do people say that? Cross my heart and hope to win the lottery and perhaps be propositioned by Hugo Weaving.

Your work pleases the hell out of my face.

Stupidity is subjective, but that doesn't give you
the excuse to subject me to it.

"ELEPHANTMEN TP VOL 02 DAMAGED GOODS

story RICHARD STARKINGS
art & cover MARIAN CHURCHLAND

Featuring a new cover and short story written and illustrated by Image Comics' rising star MARIAN CHURCHLAND, this full color trade collects MARIAN's SOLD OUT issues of ELEPHANTMEN focussing on the mademoiselles of Mystery City, Miki, Sahara and Vanity Case. Also features an extensive sketchbook of MARIAN CHURCHLAND art."

I love that the blurb in Previews about the second volume of Elephantmen is all about you instead of the story. :3
Richard Starkings has been very generous about pushing me as an artist in general, as well as an artist who did work on his books. Nice man. (And nice of you to notice)
You have beautiful art, your art drew me to Elephantmen. Now I know about you, I'm turning into a fan of your work. Loving it!
